This partnership addresses the growing need for decentralized and secure asset transfer between the Bitcoin and Canton networks. By integrating BitSafe's CBTC infrastructure with the Bron wallet, we are providing users with a tool to engage with the Canton Network's offerings. This initiative is a direct response to community requests for more straightforward ways to utilize their digital assets across different blockchain environments.
BTC-to-CBTC Swapping: Now Live
The BTC-CBTC swapping feature is now available to all Bron wallet users, enabling users to put their Bitcoin to work on the Canton Network with greater ease. The key aspects of this new swapping mechanism include:
BronSwaps: Bron uses Intents-based swap functionality, which enables users to convert BTC to CTBC using a decentralised infrastructure. You send BTC, you receive CBTC. If any part of the transaction fails, the user gets compensated immediately by the Intents smart contract. No value lost. No counterparty risk. No bridge custody.
Two-Step Signature Process: To enhance security, the swapping process requires two distinct user signatures. The first signature initiates the swap request, and the second confirms the acceptance of the CBTC deposit, ensuring users maintain full control over their assets throughout the process.
Secure Authentication: The integration supports modern authentication methods, including TouchID, FaceID, and hardware security keys, allowing for secure and convenient transaction authorization.
